Our Story

Mane Beverages began long before it had a name, back when I was simply growing mushrooms on my small farm in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. I didn’t set out to start a beverage company, I just loved cultivating mushrooms, experimenting in the kitchen, and sharing what I created with my local community.

As the farm grew, so did my curiosity. I became especially fascinated with Lion’s Mane, a mushroom known for its uniquely mild, slightly sweet flavor and its incredible cognitive and immune-supporting benefits. I started blending Lion’s Mane into traditional drinks and offering samples at our farmers markets. With my background as a sommelier and years of palate training, I couldn’t bring myself to make anything that tasted muddy, bitter, or “healthy-but-gross.” I wanted to create drinks that were truly delicious while staying true to their time-honored roots.

To my surprise, those Lion’s Mane drinks quickly became our most requested products. That interest sparked a new direction, one that blended my love of mushrooms, flavor, and functional wellness, and helped me realize we had something worth sharing on a much larger scale.

Mane Beverages came to life not from a grand business plan, but from curiosity, community, and a passion for crafting genuinely delicious wellness drinks. And while most mushroom beverages focus solely on function, we care just as much about the experience: warm, balanced, comforting, and satisfying enough to drink simply because you love the taste.

Rishona Hatcher is a mushroom cultivator, wellness enthusiast, and certified sommelier with over 15 years experience working with culinary and functional mushrooms. Before founding Mane Beverages, she spent years running Wonder Mushroom Company, a small gourmet mushroom farm in the Colorado Rockies. Her unique combination of agricultural knowledge, culinary training, and professional palate led to the creation of mushroom-infused beverages that are as flavorful as they are functional. Today, she continues to lead the development of all Mane Beverages formulations with a focus on purity, taste, and ingredient integrity.
